Abstract

Life is a gift we receive from God, a gift that should be cultivated and respected. Therefore, all acts against the human life and health indicate a lack of respect for God the Creator and another human being, i.e. family, society and oneself. Suicidal acts are becoming increasingly common among youth and children, who want to escape from difficult situations, experiences or events. Taking one’s life seems, therefore, the only way out of the situation and the only solution to deal with the problem. The reason for such an extreme approach to experiencing difficulties is a lack of love from family members and, consequently, a lack of sense of security. Another cause of suicides among teens is giving up on one’s dreams, ideals and aspirations. An important task for people involved in suicide prevention is "to create an integrated and multi-sectoral suicide prevention program that (in an anthropological perspective) raises awareness of the problem and influences all human spheres, using all possible strategies, methods and preventive forms, with the involvement of relevant institutions and social services".
