Preparation for First Holy Communion in the family

Receiving the First Holy Communion is an extremely important stage in religious education and in establishing a personal relationship with God by a child. The parish community and school catechesis play an important role in the thoro- ugh preparation for receiving this sacrament, but the most important and irreplaceable role belongs to the child’s parents. The point is that it should not be a one-time action that lasts for a certain period of time, but that the preparation for the First Holy Communion should be an element of the overall religious education that should be performed in the family. The optimal attitude of the parents takes place when the child sees their personal relationship with God on a daily basis and when the parents help the child discover a friend in God who understands us, loves us and teaches us to love.
