Abstract

Education in chastity is an essential element of Christian upbringing. It is a crucial element of the solid preparation of young people for responsible and faithful love in marriage and family. It is also a condition for the mature realization of a vocation to priesthood or consecrated life. The article shows ways in which parents and other educators should motivate children and young people to control their bodies and sexual desires. The text also presents methods of forming the virtue of chastity in thoughts, behaviors, and contacts with persons of the other sex.
