„The Little Prince” – the psycho-pedagogical analysis

Abstract

"The Little Prince" by A. de Saint-Exupéry is an example of a valuable educational communication in which the author uses timeless literary and teaching means. The work contains the most important truths about man, it moves the heart, restores joy and hope, and revives the greatest desires and ideals in us, which we discover in childhood and without which we cannot be happy as adults. The task of the teacher is to explain to pupils, that - like the “Little Prince” - none of us will be happy until we leave our own planet, that is, unless we defeat our self-centeredness and selfishness. It is only after we “leave” ourselves, i.e. recognize that we will not be happy on our own, allows us to look for friends and learn the faithful love even if it means giving life for another person. Someone who does not care for the “rose” of their life, i.e. someone who does not live up to the faithful and generous love, is not up to the caliber of humanity that God has placed in each of us to become like Him
