One of the trendy topics is now a celibate priesthood. The purpose of this paper is to show the meaning of priestly celibacy. The theological aspect of celibacy stems from the fact that the priests "are called to this, to devote himself to supreme Lord andhis affairs, devoting himself entirely to God and man (CCC, 1579). In theological terms, usually strongly emphasizes the eschatological dimension of priestly celibacy. In terms of psycho-pedagogical priestly celibacy has a double meaning. First, it is a sign and proof that love without sex is sufficient for human happiness, love and sexuality without anyone not bring lasting satisfaction. Priestly celibacy is also a result of realism in looking at the priest and the mission, what it takes. Through celibacythe priest may, from morning to evening to devote himself to the interests of marriage and family, not doing so at the expense of his wife and their children. Such an experience requires a high priesthood of psychosocial maturity, and personality with a high degree of altruism.
